We Use Less Water
We use less than 15 gallons of fresh water per car wash. Compare this to an average of 80-140 gallons of drinkable water per wash when you wash your car at home. An average hose with typical water pressure of 40 pounds per square inch spews about 11 gallons of water per minute. Washing your car with a hose for just ten minutes will use as much water as doing eighteen loads of dishes in an Energy Star qualified dishwasher – and that's not including any water used to mix car cleaner. We Reclaim and Treat Water
Gleam Car Wash is a mini water treatment plant, reclaiming almost 100% of all the water we use and treating ALL of it. Cleaning your car at home causes untreated toxic chemicals to flush down the drain into the stormwater system. These chemicals kill fish and other wildlife by polluting our waters. Keep our ecosystem healthy using a sustainable car wash.
We keep your car green
Dirty cars discharge water – from rain, snow, or sprinklers – with pollutants into the storm drain system. Washing your car frequently limits this as our environmentally-friendly car wash is able to collect, treat, and dispose of pollutants properly. WE conserve energy
In our commitment to sustainability, we use energy-efficient car wash tunnel equipment with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) in the motors, LED lighting for all lighting applications (both inside and out, including the Gleam Shop), and have solar panels on our roof. Solar energy is used to heat our water, run our hand dryers, power our LEDs and our electric car charging station. Reduce your carbon footprint, while enjoying a clean car with Gleam.
WE RECYCLE CANS
As part of our effort to reduce our carbon footprint and maintain our Silver Medal status in Colorado’s Environmental Leadership Program, we established a system to puncture each and every aerosol can, reclaim (and reuse when possible) the remaining liquid, and then we recycle both the cans and the lids. We recycle 200 cans per month!

The Environmental Leadership Program (ELP) is the statewide environmental recognition and reward program which offers benefits and incentives to members that voluntarily go beyond compliance with state and federal regulations and are committed to continual environmental improvement.
